The next meeting of Rip Van Winkle chapter 40 will be held on Saturday November 10th, 2018. The meeting will be held at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church 175 Fifth Avenue Saratoga Springs, NY, across from BOCES at the corner of Henning Road. There will be a complimentary continental breakfast at 9. The next meeting of Rip Van Winkle chapter 40 will be held on Saturday November 10th, 2018. The meeting will be held at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church 175 Fifth Avenue Saratoga Springs, NY, across from BOCES at the corner of Henning Road. There will be a complimentary continental breakfast at 9. 

A presentation will be given by Karl Burghart on bushing a clock; with some hands on demonstrations. The meeting will also include a mart, silent auction, 50-50 raffle, and the Rip Library. A reward of a $100 will be given for the most interesting wood works clock brought to the meeting. All present will vote to determine the winner. This was missed last meeting so we are trying again.
 
The Monday Night Clock Group continues to meet as it has for the past 40 years at the Burnt Hills Baptist Church on Kingsley Road Burnt Hills, NY every Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Coffee and refreshments are served and there is a weekly talk on collecting and repairing clocks and watches.  As well, clocks and watches are bought and sold and the public is invited to attend for advice on repair and appraisal and to join the group, fees are $20. per year and we take the summer off, starting after Labor day and ending in June.  Call Peter Elmendorf at 518-587-4435 for more information.


There are now 2 courses in clock repair being given at Saratoga Springs City School District at the Senior High School through the continuing education department.  The beginning course is taught by Jim Burghart and Peter Elmendorf and the advanced course is taught by Karl Burghart.  The next course starts in the fall of  2118.  To register use this web site:http://www.saratogaschools.org/community.cfm?subpage=423713
