There will be a large mart, including Peter Elmendorf's collection of anniversary clocks and cuckoo clocks.  Our new librarian, Jeff Mayott , will be there with the latest library acquisitions.  A $ 100 prize will be presented to the individual bringing the most interesting torsion pendulum clock as determined by a vote of those present.  Dues of $10 are payable for the 2019 calendar year.  The Rip Van Winkle clock owned by the chapter will be on display.  There will be a silent auction of clock tools.  A 50-50 raffle will be held to benefit the chapter.  
 
Ben Kniskern, a nationally known expert on torsion pendulum clocks, will discuss their history and collection illustrating his talk with examples from his collection.  As well , Ben will give a workshop on do's and don'ts in repair of anniversary clocks and will break one down for cleaning and repairing. 

Please bring an item for the Church's food pantry. Officers will be elected for the next two years. New members will be introduced.  Next year's calendar will be set at a meeting of the board of directors which will follow the lunch.  Our Secretary, Jim Burghart is undergoing serious back surgery February 19th with a lengthy recovery.
 
The Monday Night Clock Group continues to meet as it has for the past 40 years at the Burnt Hills Baptist Church on Kingsley Road Burnt Hills, NY every Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Coffee and refreshments are served and there is a weekly talk on collecting and repairing clocks and watches.  As well, clocks and watches are bought and sold and the public is invited to attend for advice on repair and appraisal and to join the group, fees are $20. per year and we take the summer off, starting after Labor day and ending in June.  Call Peter Elmendorf at 518-587-4435 for more information.


There are now 2 courses in clock repair being given at Saratoga Springs City School District at the Senior High School through the continuing education department.  The beginning course is taught by Jim Burghart and Peter Elmendorf and the advanced course is taught by Karl Burghart.  The next course starts in the fall of  2118.  To register use this web site:http://www.saratogaschools.org/community.cfm?subpage=423713
