Chapter Meetings

The typical meeting begins with coffee, morning snacks, and conversation, then advances to the very popular Mart, where at no additional charge, members are provided a table to display their array of clocks, watches, tools, books, and other horological ephemera for sale. After the Mart we'll normally have a short business meeting, followed by our educational program, usually featuring a guest, speaking on a topic of interest to all members.
If you're new to the area, we'd like to meet you, and want to encourage you to visit as our guest. Contact an officer or director via their e-mail link for information about attending one of our meetings.

Our Trip to American Watch and Clock Museum in Bristol CT

A group of Chapeter 142 member went to the American Watch and Clock museum on May 5. Bill Daniels was a great guy and drove up and back in a rented Sprinter. We received a personally guided tour of the museum. Plus one of the docents gave a talk on the eveloution of the clocks from the Bristal area, mainly the half column splat and the pillar and scroll using several clock from his private collection. We certainly got to see some rare and unusual clocks that the average "Joe" probably would not get to see. There were three guides who, after doing the tour, stayed around and answered any and all questions. After the tour and presentation, we ate lunch and went back for our own personal wanderings. I would recommend this museum to all members, it is not overwhelming, the staff is helpful and friendly and there is enough to take in to satisfy most collectors.
